And what a week it was. We held forty-five 1-2-1 sessions, at 35 minutes each. These were a chance to get to know you, provide some guidance and simply talk about the wacky world of pensions.
We had 263 people tune in, which is a brilliant number. However, we believe it to be even higher, with several offices tuning in from the same place. That this IMI Pensions Roadshow attained such a fantastic turnout thrilled us and reflects what we saw throughout the week: an intrigue, curiosity and passion for engaging with your pension.
These statistics just enforce the idea that what makes the IMI Pensions Roadshow so special is you – from the lively Q&As to the thriving community spirit that seemed woven throughout the week.
Nothing better captured that feeling than during our webinar on the cost of living, which was unsurprisingly one of our most popular sessions.
During the Q&A in that session, we asked what tips you might have to share with your colleagues that could make a difference during the cost-of-living crisis. What followed was a wave of tips, tricks and homemade money-saving ideas that bounced from one to another and captivated us as an embodiment of the Roadshow spirit, as One Big Team.
Another popular webinar – surprisingly to us, but a welcome surprise nonetheless – was the New State Pension Explained. We looked at what it is, when it was introduced, and directed people to a host of resources, including Martin Lewis’ comprehensive State Pension guide.
However, by far the most popular session from the Roadshow was on Combining Pots. This gave us a chance to show off Totalizer, our new tool found in the Optimize app. Totalizer gives you the chance to visualise every single pension you have in one place – that means your IMI workplace pension with Mercer, pensions from previous jobs, the State Pension and any additional personal pensions you might have.
Thanks should go out to our 1-2-1 phoneline operators, Paul, Noel, Sapna, Martin and Christine. They found that in every one of our 45 sessions, the most common concern was the death nomination form. In fact, only 1% of IMI employees have completed this, which, based on your feedback, we’ll be making more accessible going forwards. In the first of our efforts towards this, we’ll be bringing out a video soon explaining what the death nomination is and why it’s so important. In the meantime, however, find out more about Nominating a Beneficiary at our dedicated page.
If you didn’t manage to attend the Roadshow, don’t worry. In the Roadshow Video Library, you’ll be able to watch back the webinars and catch up.
Remember that you can revisit any of the topics covered throughout the week by looking on the IMI Pensions Website, or by staying up to date here with IMI Pension News. There’s a diverse range of information, videos, articles and money-saving techniques to dive into.
